Is it possible or even logical to...
In all honesty, your better off waiting for someone to come out with a conversion kit to turn your auto into a slap stick or paddle shifter.
However, if your thinking your losing power..your right but wrong.
With todays technology in automatic transmissions, its a mixed theory.
If you get 2 identical cars, drivers weight the same, only difference is, 1 is a manual, 1 is a auto.
you race.
the manual will win.
now...tune that auto tranny.
Race again.
the auto will win.
why? because you can optimize your shift points, and set your shifting firmness. what that means is you got 4 gears that will shift instantly..no smooth transitions like your used too.
he's got 5 gears hes got to shift...and is going to shift slower than your auto tranny..even if he is good...he cant shift faster than your tranny. also, he is prone to driver error as in missing gears.
your only "driver error" would be to accidently let your food off the gas..or tap the break...or bump the shifter into neutral while your reaching for your stereo to turn it on XM.
but in short, itd be expensive to do it. and your car wouldnt like it much (having a computer and all)
