Anyone take apart their trans? I got the 5 gear synco, blocker rings, ect off the input shaft side of the trans but I cant for the life of me get the driven 5 gear off the output shaft side.

I tried torches, jaw pullers, tool that attached to the trans case and pulls the case up. Nothing has worked so far.

 

Maybe it's because I'm naive about transmissions but what would blocking out 5th do for you?

 

He's disassembling the trans, not trying to remove a gear. You can't just leave parts out...

 

Ok, I thought maybe I misunderstood something but that did seem weird that he was going to remove the gear

I need to remove the 5 gear to split the case, so I can install my LSD

 

because racecar... it'd be lighter over all and less junk spinning in the trans so less parasitic drag

 

replied. puller brings case with gear

 

this might help . Check for the snap ring.

You need a real thin puller to get under the little gear. I had to make one.

 

You have to get it off before you split the case. Whats your email ? Ill send a PDF of the F35 service manual
