short shifter

Hey guys I am thinking about buying a short shifter off my ss/tc. Before I spend 200$ on this.
I wanted to know how much time this will take off my 1/4mile?

Better shifter feel, and it's the part of the car you're always engaging.

You could slightly reduce you quarter mile times thru quicker shifts, but it's not the main reason for a short shifter imo

As said before, it wont take anytime off your quarter mile time. I have a ss/tc I bought a TWM, it did shorten it up but not by very much at all. The shift feel is better but I attribute that to the bushings not the shifter itself.

One of the dumbest questions I've ever seen on here.

Don't feel bad, man. We all have to learn at some point.

Look into the B&M Shift Plus if you want to firm up your shifts. At least I think that's what it's called. lol I live in manual world sorry.

Buy used.

I bought a Hurst and I can't see why people bitch about'em. It's a very solid, quality shifter. No issues with the set screw, shifter cables retainers, 5th and reverse engagement, or the boot getting caught like most have complained about. Must be the installer.

About as easy as changing oil on these cars.
