Slipping Clutch

after changing the clutch of my 2006 SS S/C for a SPEC stage 2+,pressure plate and new throw out bearing with a SPEC flywheel the 2nd gear of the car is less powerfull and the car is slipping the clutch in the 3rd gear when I power shift
that's after 650 miles driven after changing the clutch because SPEC recommend to drive it like 500miles before going full throttle

any help please

thanks in advance

is the clutch slipping, or is it not shifting right?

also, are you sure that you kept the friction disc clean during the install?

I assume yes
because I brought the car to a professional mechanic to do the job
I wasn't present when he did it

Does your car go into 3rd correctly without powershifting?

You MUST replace the slave cylinder when you do the clutches on these cars. Was that done?

stop powershift before you make the clutch not catch all together. Could have been how you broke in the clutch

darkmanx is saying not to powershift.

my guess is slave cylinder, but that's because i've had two of the SPEC ones go bad on me. GM OEM FTW!

ok I understand
but that was the 2nd time i did and the first time was after about 600 miles which is more then what spec recommends. from 0 to 600 miles i drove the car shifting below 3000 RPM
I'm not power shifting now with this problem

Yes, these cars use a hydraulic throwout bearing/slave cyl combo. Its one piece.

GM is the only people who make the slave cylinders. If Spec includes them, which I don't beleive they do because I never got one with mine, then they got them from GM too.

that's what i would have thought, however, the one that came with my kit is different than the one that came out of the car, and the one that i ordered as an OEM replacement is different than either of them.

GM is the only company that makes the throwout bearing. An aftermarket TOB would be really nice. I put a new one in with the Exedy and wonder if its going to hold up to high RPM track launches on slicks.

My exedy was fine on the 2.6 and meth but with the turbo and slicks on it started slipping into 3rd gear and then when I tried to do 2nd gear burnouts with slicks.

when i bought my SPEC kit it tells that it comes with the throw out bearing too but when i got it it wasn't in so I called them about it and they told me that i've to buy the throw out bearing from the dealer because they don't make it and the dealer is the only one who does.
