So i started making a rwd cobalt
i have officially started making my car rwd have 75% of the components i need and have only spent about $1000 with about $500 more to spend.
1 rear end from a cadillac catera 1 5 spd tranny from a 1994+ s10 all exhaust and intake piping all metal for framing custom drive shaft custom motor and tranny mounts custom steering rack and the mind set to get er done |

Hypothetically, wouldn't it be easier to just swap the motor, trans, etc to the trunk and make it rear engine? You'd have to move the fuel tank and mess with some of the suspension and whatnot, but then you wouldn't have to worry about all the complications of a drivetrain, new tranny, etc, etc.

you're also gonna need a hefty amount of bracing in the rear end to mount the axle. i could see a lot of the metal back there just buckling from not being designed to handle the power being put down back there
