HOLY SHIT REALLY I DIDN"T KNOW ANY RWD PLATFORM COULD JUST DROP INTO AnY OTHER RWD PLATFORM... that being said.. your point is moot.. i know they're both RWD however doing evrything to make all the engine and drivetrain components is different yes they had an easier time then expected but my point is they dropped a totally different drive train in the car then what came with it .. so why not

not really. a 350 swap to and S10 and a 350 in a Cavailer are a whole different ballgame. which is exactly what you are comparing. stand alone fuel management is damn near the easiest part now. so yes its a "different drive train" but they didnt change the vehicle layout like you do when coverting from FWD to RWD Smartass.

why not take the drivetrain out of a solstice/sky, mount the engine in the trunk of the cobalt and the axle under the hood. talk about a mind fuck.

Will this be a downloadable race series in either Forza or GT? I can't wait to compete in the RF Cup!

^^^what for? dude hasn't posted pics, so he's obviously a troll.

EVEN IF someone could pull this off, it is just gonna be a mess. The car was designed for FWD, so converting it to RWD will make it unbalanced as hell.

rwd would probably help get it to a 50/50 weight actually since you'd be moving/adding more weigh to the rear and taking some from the front, but the tank would need a new home to give the drive shaft room and "all" existing rear suspension would need to be removed/changed, rotating the engine and mounting a sky/solstice trans move more weight to the center of the car

stock is 60/40...

Big job for someone who is just learning. Maybe you should just start by rotating the tires. That way you will maybe, kinda, sorta have a RWD Cobalt.

Blowncavy 01-16-2012 10:07 PM

So much gayness in this thread

FryLoch 01-16-2012 10:20 PM

RWD cobalt would be useless. Handling would be terrible, so would traction unless you tub the rear and run slicks.

What I want to see and I feel would be much easier than building a rwd car, take a wrecked EVO 7/8/9 or eclipse GSX and transplant all the parts into the Cobalt. The motor is oriented correctly the width and length of the cars and components are similar. Of course this would require exstensive fabrication and time to build.
