Spec 3+ Clutch and... what flywheel works best with it?

I'm looking for some input around those that have done swaps with Spec clutches. I've had a Spec 3+ I've been saving for some time now. My question is what flywheel have people been having the best luck with pairing it with? GM/stock or a Spec perhaps?

I seem to remember hearing something about the holes not quite being right with the GM one. I also seem to remember that it tended to chatter with the Spec flywheel.

Just looking for some clarity here. Thanks in advance!

i wouldnt recommend the stock flywheel for the spec stage 3+. i have a theory to all the said failures being had on here. i specs aluminum flywheel.

i have personally run a stage 3+ on 2 different big turbo setups with easily over 80+ dyno passes on it and i pulled the clutch out today because my car totaled and i wanted my parts and theres PLENTY of life after all the abuse.

I have SPEC 3+ on my kappa.

It engages and shifts almost like stock clutch.......but grips like mofo.

I love it.

I'll use spec fw and not the stock fw.....

iirc the holes being different in the flywheel has to do with the lnf flywheel vs. the lsj flywheel.....could be wrong tho

Im using the Spec Aluminum Flywheel and am very happy with it.

use specs flywheel. i think the clutch compound is too aggresive for the stock flywheels...

I also had the spec aluminum fw with my Spec 3+ that was on my HHR SS, never had any problems out of it.

Ok. Thanks for the input everybody!

Yep usually if they offer an upgraded flywheel I always recommend it to customers as they are usually ment to pair up. The light replacement clutches like the stage 2 might be ok wjth an oem flywheel

Okay. Yeah, I guess I'll need to stert keeping my eyes peeled for any worthwhile offers on Spec flywheels then. Thanks again.
