Damn... that sucks. That seal looks damaged... you'll probably need to change it out for sure.

Something exploded in mine. I'm tearing it off and apart this weekend.

How hard was it to take yours off?

And Paul... do you still have the proper tools to do it?

Ah, I re-read the post. I see... good luck to you.

I've got a .DOC file on how to tear the trans apart, if you want it. Another member sent it to me... I haven't looked at it yet to figure out how good it is though.

Angry

Just had to take mine to the dealer because it was bleeding trans fluid.
They said, "no problem, rear seal, have it fixed in a jiffy"
They'd have to drop the trans to do it so I figured this was my chance to throw in the Exedy clutch.
It was all done and put back together, they fill it with fluid and..............
still a leak. CRACKED HOUSING!

You need Chapters 5 & 6... they explain how to take it out... and put it back in.

sorry man, I vowed I would never ever take one apart again, new tranny or nothing lol.
as for the seal, easy fix, and just replace the mount with yours, no biggy.... easier than swapping the internals. I got a tranny swap down to about 6 hours on jackstands

It's not hard, it's just time consuming. There is a lot involved with it. I bet if Paul and I teamed up, we could knock it out in about half the time.

I plan on doing mine sometime in the next two weeks after finals finish up here in O town.... I have like 6 people coming over to help rip the car apart to get the clutch out. I figure the more guys the quicker it might go.... even though I am going to need more beer for the guys, good thing the keg in the fridge still has some left in it So if I got two whole days off from work, is it going to be possible to rip the tranny apart and put it back together? Assuming I have some clue as to whats going on with a FWD tranny that is!

Hell no , I wouldnt and thats coming from a guy who can work on every aspect of this car . This trans is a nightmare . Paul is right about the gears and u do need the specific tools . Our local dealers wont even service them , if there something wrong they just replace the whole thing . IT really sucks , me and a friend got incredible deals on posi units but sold them due to the install woes .

I've heard some bad reviews on the Bully clutches. People having problems at the track with the car not wanting to go in to second very easily.
