Trans problems help!!!!!
please someone help me, so its almost impossible to get my car into gear with out having to put alot of pressure on the shifter to get it in gear?? but when the car is off its goes in fine. maybe trans fluid but idk where that goes. please help
Sta Meng - If you pump the clutch a few times before trying to put it in gear, is it easier? If so, bleed the clutch and see how it does then.
Do you have an upgraded clutch or flywheel in the car? If you do you might not be opening the pressure plate the correct amount. Does the car try to roll forward when you put it in gear, also check the clutch rod from the pedal to the master cyl to see if it is bent.
There could be a few probs with your setup. 1. The step height on the flywheel is incorrect. 2. Your clutch rod is bent. 3. When you add pressure to the pressure plate the system requires more fluid to open the pressure plate. The only way to do this is to push more fuild into the slave. We do this by using our adjustable clutch rod. That is what I am doing in my twincharge car and in Matt's LNF and in Tim's Redline. It works great, and it is 100% stronger than the stock rod. We will be releasing the adj. clutch rod very soon, just finishing up on the last of the machine work.
The clutch rod is connected to the clutch pedal and to the master cyl. under the dash. If you spin the clutch rod it should spin freely. If it is bent it will not spin 360 or have some drag. You should be able to tell fairly easy.
The clutch rod needs to be longer to make more pressure, but you can't adjust the stock unit. You will either have to modify the stock rod or wait unit we release ours, which will be very soon. Did you see if yours was bent?

if thats the piece i am looking for then it spins freely with not alot of effort. i am leaning towards the idea of the flywheel step height, as u called it, being wrong. 2 different clutches, a stage 2 and an oem replacement clutch both with the same problems.
That's the clutch rod. You could have some air in the system, but I would think if you are using an OE replacement or a stage 2 you shouldn't have to many problems. Unless there is air in your system the only thing left would be the flywheel step. What flywheel do you have. I've never seen a clutch rod with the germany sticker before, not that it matters.
i am on the second clutch with this same issue, twice, and it sucks ass. everytime i talk to some mechanic about it they have never heard of such a thing and my car is still under some sort of waranty and the dealership wont touch it. so everything is coming out of pocket. going to be my 3rd clutch with a new flywheel. and hopefully this resolves my problem. thanks ryan for all ur help.
Yeah saab is something like that I just never saw a clutch rod with the sticker on it, just saying, wasn't really relevant. Check the run out on the flywheel. We have had a few of the fidanza flywheels that were not flat, but the step heights have been close. I have the same flywheel and we machined it. No prob, your welcome.
i doubt mine has been machined. i did have the second shop replace the insert when i had the new clutch installed along with a new tob. but now i am waiting on my centerforce dfx with new flywheel and tob to get in and get it installed. a friend of mine has that setup for a couple of years and has not had 1 problem. its the only conclusion i can come up with considering the fact its an 07 with 14k miles on it.
mind if i ask how many milimeters/thousands of an inch u shaved off the flywheel so i could sell it and tell the next owner to have it done??

I've had my clutch blead 20X's that's right 20X's.. and had it installed four different times, twice by the leading GM performance dealer in the southwest and they could not even get my Clutchmasters stg3 to engage\go into gear or release at all, so I went with an OEM...., then I found a private shop that specializes in GM performance cars and they got my stg 3 to work but not very well... GM techs really suck and dont know a DAMN thing about these cars, REALLY!!!! they dont......
My clutch has been replaced under warranty. But I had low mileage and my 2nd gear blew up and they said the clutch was manufacturer defect so they replaced it.A certain someone on here didnt believe me at all even though I have the work order and the trans tech showed me all the broken parts but what ever thats his problem.Same with my brake rotors. Were replaced under warranty when they warped with 2600 miles on it.They said as long as the car has under 4000 miles it would be covered,Anything over 4000 was my problem.
