Transmission Wobble

I couldnt find this particular problem. I've read the click and clunk threads, but no wobble threads.

This happens in 1st and 2nd gear under moderate to hard acceleration at 2200 - 2500rpms. Slow acceleration it is fine. I can actually feel motor/transmission wobble. I recently had my tires balanced so I know its not them. I also put filled trans mounts on (about a month ago), and had no wobble. This problem started about two weeks ago, and is getting slightly worse. I put the front stock mount back on and doesnt seem to be any different. I am about to put the rear stock mount back on too, so all will be stock again.

I rarely beat my car, hasent seen redline in about a month. I really dont want to bring it to the dealer and have them say I was beating it. But I'll put it back to stock for now.

Anyone else experience this problem?

Think back to right before you first noticed the wobble/vibration. What did you do with the car just before? If it was the tire balance, I would as if you have the stock lug nuts? If you do not, you need to take one lug nut and the locking lug off and weigh them individually on a postal scale. These cars are very sensitive to all of the lug nuts being the same weight. I had this problem on my car. I had lesser expensive (ie - cheap) aftermarket wheels and "tuner" lug nuts on the car, and this car would vibrate, then stop, vibrate, then stop (you get the idea). There was like 3 grams difference between the weight of the lock and the other 4 lug nuts. The moment I switched back to the factory lug nuts and locks, the problem disappeared. Hope this helps.

this engine moves like CRAZY. pop the hood and have a friend rev the car, it literally looks like the engine is going to jump out of the car. get some mounts, and it will take care of that problem.

Its not a wobble due to the tires. When I'm cruising at a constant speed, any speed, there is no wobble. Its at all speeds, at certain rpm ranges when I accelerate.

Stock mounts would probably fix the problem. However, the engine would still probably be wobbling, but it just wouldn't be transfered into the car.

I do understand that this engine is not that smooth. I was just thinking that the three solid transmission mounts might have been "too hard" on the transmission itself and caused it to wear or break. I've only had this mod for about 4 weeks now, so I cant imagine that the transmission would go in this short period of time...

Thanks for all the advice!

i bet it's your filled trans mounts. they probably either softened up, or the "Filling" fell out. i would take a look.

Its alignment issue 100% from the springs.

You have offset caster now a little bit.

Cause that's gay.

Learn to fix a problem yourself instead of paying someone else to do it or having a dealer keep your car for 8 hours just to tell you that your Cat was clogged and that was causing the wheels to wobble.

Yes I had an alignment the day after I lowered it. Its definitely something in the engine/transmission. Just now coming back to work from lunch I threw a code

Take it to Auto Zone and have them read the code (its free and takes 2 minutes) then report back to us.

Yeah, my dad has a scantool as well. I think I'm gonna scan it, and if its something about the transmission, I'm putting the stock mounts on. I just cant see how mounts would ruin anything...

I don't think that the car throws Transmission codes... and I HIGHLY doubt that it is transmission related.

The code was 0446 I think? Emission evap malfunction. My dad says thats just the gas cap not being on right or something...so I cleared it and its fine. Didn't have time to put the stock mounts back on...maybe this weekend...
