TWM shifter Question

When I installed my shifter yesterday, it seems to lean up and to the right like its in 5th when its really in neutral...do I need to adjust the clips on the shift cables? I had the clips all the way up past the yellow tubing on the cables...could this be my problem?

Or does it need to be positioned correctly when I insert the silver clip back into the shift assembly?

Anyone had this issue before? I don't remember reading about it in any of the previous TWM threads.

Adjust the clips. It should fix the positioning.
