Well my differential exploded this morning...

Yep. I was just coasting on my way to work and stepped on the gas pedal to accelerate and the car came to a screeching hault in the middle of the road. Thank god it loosened back up and I was able to coast the 1/2 mile to my shop. So this makes catastrpohic failure #4. It's time to get rid of the beast because these cars just can't hack it. It was nice being part of this LSJ community, but I guess it's time to move on to the LNF.

That really sucks, man. You must be pushing some serious power and beating on that thing to break that much stuff.

If you're parting out I'll take the springs.

I am parting it out, but the RedLine springs don't fit the Cobalts.

Don't think so. Thus far I have broken the clutch into 1 million pieces, broken a transmission mount into three pieces, blown the rings in one of the cylinders of the engine, and now exploded the differential in the transmission. If they were made to handle 1.5 times the power they came with then they would do so.

umm no tranny is weak and only rated to 250 or 275 tq (and thats at the crank) so to all pushing above that (minus lsd of course) days are numbered. by the way in my garage are 3 trannys (non g85) that the diff blew through the case in the last few weeks... so I do have an idea here..
