What causes the clutch/gear engagement slop???

so after you let the clutch back up and the new gear is engaged and you hit the gas , I hear and feel a "thunk" type noise. what is this? the clutch or the tranny? what fixes it? a tranny mount, different clutch??? feels loose and sloppy.

It is the slop in the engine/tranny mounts. It is your engine/tranny flopping around.

Check out the TTR Upper mount and STOP mounts, it will reduce this slop greatly!
