what clutch/flywheel combo...need help fast
my ss/sc is in the shop right now with a screwed up clutch, 14,000 miles. my dealer told me if i wanted to get an aftermarket combo they would put it in for free since they are gonna have to tear it apart anyways to get my stock on out. i havnt done much research on clutch combos... whats out there and what is the **** for our cars. any info would be appreciated
Im running a clutchmaster stage3 and flywheel combo, It grabs good, and no slippage but you do get some tranny noise. I always get a grinding noise when slowing down. Besides that the clutch has worked great.

STAGE IV
80% more clamp load over stock
- Recommended for 250-400WHP and 300-400TQ
- This is the clutch of choice if you make big power, but also if you drive your car back and forth from work and spend hours in traffic.
- The reason for this is Bully's patented technology which incorporates new mechanisms into the clutch that adds more clamping force while reducing pedal effort by 30%.
- Suitable for TAG STAGE 2
- Can use a few different combinations: Ceramic/Kevlar, Full Kevlar or Full Ceramic 4 or 6 pucks
- Ceramic/Kevlar is a street strip application
- Full Kevlar stays cooler for road track/drag racing
- Full Ceramic is an excellent drag race clutch if you go every weekend this ones for you!
PRICE
$906 USD

im really leanin towrd the exedy...but this is tempting. the exedy seems to be a better buy but i dont know how these 2 compare. i dont know much about the bully, what is your reason for selling. ill def keep let u know either tonight or tomorrow
i recommend just resurfacing the stock flywheel, its cheaper and the stock one is light enough, with a grippyer clutch and a lighter flyewheel i think drivability would be a little worse. the street stage 1 clutch i put in my maxima chatters when trying to let out the clutch slowly. unless you are constantly at the track or auto x i'd reuse the stock flywheel. thats what cottman used to talk me out of a light flywheel for the maxipad, after i bought it... and i sent it back and never got a refund... pisses me off.. haha anyway that was my $.02

thanks ggarcia86. it looks liek ill have the weekend to decide, i duno if ill be able to call my dealer tomorrow seeing that i have to work. dezod got back to me and told me its a direct replacement and everythng that i need is included so ill prolly go w the exedy. sorry joewit
By the time I finally got the clutch from tag I had moved on to a srt-4. so Idont have a balt anymore so i dont need it. But I bought this clutch because it seemed like the best street clutch that could still hold power that those other clutches that are a pain to drive can.
The exedy isn't THAT bad.....it's a learning curve. It's bad for like the first few hours you drive your car again. After that even in heavy traffic it's not bad. It seems to me that people who complain about a heavy clutch shouldn't be driving a performance car......Im sure the exedy is a bit stiffer anyway from the pressure plate they give you with it....I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE EXEDY, and they will be my company of choice for any future vehicles I decide to purchase.
