means you dont have to let off the gas at all when your going to shift, for better acceleration

It means u can keep the gas pedal mashed to the floor at WOT when u shift . When u press the clutch in the computer will control the throttle in between shifts . Defintely interesting , when it can be manipulated thru HPT , when that access becomes available .

For those of us who can powershift , nope it doesnt . The no lift feature and the launch control feature would be fun to play with in HP tuners though .

agreed. launch control could have possibilities.
though its likely just a parameter expanding on boost control

I wonder if this feature will hurt our times for us people that can do it without the computer intervening?

i doubt it.

if it is tuneable, then as power is added, it can be used more and more to help

When I shift I leave my foot all the way down on the gas when I just basically tap the clutch pedal when I shift. You must do it very fast. I run the engine almost all the way to the fuel cut off, any more and it would stall due to the rev limiter. It takes awhile to perfect but when you perfect it, it works great and you got to be fast or you will miss a gear. It is very hard on a car I must tell you aswell.

Im curious how it takes ALOT less skill?

you still have to depress the clutch, you still have to shift very quickly.....
the only difference is the computer controls your RPMs so that if you suck at it, you wont bounce the rev limiter.

its powershifting for dummies.

Imagine going to shift but you slam the clutch AND brake down. That would ******* hurt.

Got a question. Can you drive the new SS turbo as a normal stick? as in lift off the gas while shifting?

Like for normal city driving is it ok to drive it as a normal stick without causing problems?

yes.. but you don't have to. i don't see why they'd make it so you HAVE to no lift shift.

Yes, in fact you should always drive "normal" on public roads. NLS is for racing and should only be used on the track. To do a NLS (No Lift Shift) you need to be at WOT (Wide Open Throttle). That means the gas pedal is all the way to the floor. NLS should be used sparingly or you will eventually break something on your car. GM only tested this feature a dozen times. NLS is not a manner in which you should drive your car, it is a racing technique. Normal driving won't cause problems, NLS might cause a problem.
