What does no lift shift mean?
Yes, in fact you should always drive "normal" on public roads. NLS is for racing and should only be used on the track. To do a NLS (No Lift Shift) you need to be at WOT (Wide Open Throttle). That means the gas pedal is all the way to the floor. NLS should be used sparingly or you will eventually break something on your car. GM only tested this feature a dozen times. NLS is not a manner in which you should drive your car, it is a racing technique. Normal driving won't cause problems, NLS might cause a problem.
1-2 is violent 2-3 3-4 isnt bad
Full throttle just before redline clutch in keep right foot down complete shift fast
Thrres several ways to mess this up you gotta do it in less than a second, you cannot let it hit the rev limiter I usually tell my foot to go right before the needle hits 6k rpm, you cant do it too early gotta be right near 6 or more, you cannot lift your right foot at all because every fiber of your being is going to compel you to lift off dont the computer will sort it out if you got it right
Be judicious about it especially if your car is tuned my car is bone stock with 90k ive done it probably 30-40 times so it can handle it but its not for everyday use I only use it in a really close race or when im searching for tenths at the track

it works trust me. not always easy to hit it though. i've missed it once or twice but usually i can hit it on the 3-4 shift at the track no problem.

Several people have told me over the years they want my vin so they can avoid mine if they ever saw it for sale.
That said, I have NLS'd at least once every driven day since I bought it new it early 2010. It is almost always 2-3 and almost never 1-2 or 3-4. I am at 110k miles and the worst I can report is some barely audible noise cruising @ 35mph or less in third gear and either coasting or decelerating. I'll drop a line when I have had the transmission replaced
First, you have to hit the traction control button twice. The instrument cluster will display "Launch Control". Clutch in, select first gear, right foot on the gas pedal to the floor. RPM's rise to 5000 and hold there, no bouncing off the rev limiter at 6k+. This is the best way to find out if you have it before you actually try to use it. If you do, have fun. I've only used it a handful of times, the first was on the test drive at the dealership before signing the paperwork to make sure it worked (and everything else including the sunroof and traction control). I spend most of my time on the freeway just cruising, so shifts are slow and deliberate. Track time is usually road courses, and kart tracks. LOL all you want at the kart tracks, they are tight technical lines in an actual car on a miniature track.
clutch in, shift at normal speed, dont try to shift to fast or ull just **** it up.
not supposed to really make the shift quicker, more so you dont have to build boost again, throttle plate never closes = doesnt dump the boost.

Your on point there is a time limit though you dont have to shift at the speed of light but no granny shiftin
