wheel hop

Im going to install a 2.7 and 60lbers. I also have a CA heat exchanger and an AEM cai. Can anyone tel me what type of traction mod i can get to stop wheel hop or reduce it to practically nothing for the cheapest amount??? I dont wanna spend much more than $200.. Thanks

The chances that installing 1 traction mod will fully stop your wheel hop is pretty slim. But you can start out with something like the Ingalls torque damper or a poly engine mount that will reduce the wheel hop.

Edit: Or if you don't care about vibrations, you could even get a solid mount.

If you can afford $259 for the Intense-Racing Suspension Pkg this IMO is the best place to start modding for more traction, pkg includes polyurethane Control Arm Bushings and tranny mount inserts, much better results than an ETD alone, plus better shifting quality. I plan on having the poly upgrade installed during the 1st week of may I will be posting my Review of the difference it will make

well the real fix is axles and dampers (wheel.. not engine)

good 'masks' for the problem are engine mounts and engine dampers.

the cause of wheel hop is a collection of inadequacies sourced by gm to save $$$, first improvement that should be made IMO is the Control Arm Bushings, they keep the tires pushed to the ground, mounts, inserts, ETD's reduce engine movement which transfers too much extra torque to the wheels every time the motor kicks back causing the wheels to break traction. most of the mounts for sale will cause lots of in-cabin noise as Control Arm Bushings wont do and the intense poly trans inserts are formulated to be a little softer to reduce the vibes<<#1 choice IMO.........how do the axles have anything to do with wheel hop?

The axles are the "spring". they wind up and let loose at a certain rate causing wheel hop.

The whole system is at fault, mounts, shocks, etc.. but the #1 fix will be axles with a different 'spring rate'
