I was going to order one and test it out but the web page said they were sold out. Please keep us posted when you install it!

The install was very simple. Only took about 10 mins. I used a floor jack with a 2x4 to support the engine during install. There are 3 bolts and 2 nuts that you have to remove. That's it. If you've ever installed a torque brace you were half way there.

I just got back from a ride. I dropped the clutch to do a burn out and I got a very little amount of wheel hop at the begining for less than a second and then it settled right down and just smoked the tires. Eventhough there was a little wheel hop it is no where near what I had before. Before if I did the same thing the whole car felt like it was going to fall apart.

I may have noticed a little more cabin noise but that was only when I was cruisin in 2nd gear at about 4000 rpms. I'm not really even sure if there was any more though.

Also my shifts felt more firm I guess becuase of the reduced engine movement.

Just out of curiosity, is it a good idea to only strengthen one mount?

Won't that put stress on the others?

it will put the most stress on the new harder mount you put in since it will be much stiffer than the others.

So do you need 2 mounts? Also, would we benefit from the tranny mount or the engine mount? Which would be better if you could only get one?

I saw that the tranny mount is 250. Thats alotta cash.

I got mine installed, havn't taken it out yet since i cut deep into my thumb underneath where my nail used to be. I don't know which is worse, the stock tranny mount or the stock engine mount. The engine mount can easily be twisted by hand and the tranny mount has space where its supposed to move. The tranny mount alone would prob do more to eliminate the hop but its also has the most vibrations. I'll see how it is tomorrow when i drive it with both installed.

Ok I took it for a test drive... Absolutly no wheel hop with the tranny mount. When i tested with just my tranny mount I still got a little wheel hop but not any more. There were no more vibrations or noise compared to the stock mount. Feels good, for 150 its a good deal!!

Dont we need 2 motor mounts though? I mean should we buy both? I guess what Im getting at is that I wanna elminate wheel hop or most of it but i dont wanna do a mod if its not gonna benefit. Should we shoot for the tranny mount or 2 motor mounts?

Do these mounts work for all Cobalts or are the mounts different between the engines?

We have two motor mounts and two tranny mounts. ZZ P has only made one mount so far, they plan on doing the other in the future, its a different design. They told me that they have several projects going right now and that is in their line up!

Dont we need 2 motor mounts though? I mean should we buy both? I guess what Im getting at is that I wanna elminate wheel hop or most of it but i dont wanna do a mod if its not gonna benefit. Should we shoot for the tranny mount or 2 motor mounts?
Two would be better but since there is only one i'll live with it for now. I think with both the tranny and motor mount that i have completely eliminated the wheel hop. I'll do another test when i get my LSD in.

The second motor mount is under the ECU and fuse box.
