2.2 G5 dyno

well me and my buddy and his friend took our deltas to zzp to do some dyno pulls and for his friend to get some work done.

lets just say my car ran a lot better than i expected

Mods:
zzp midlength combo w/cat
vibrant 2.2/2.4 catback (2 3/8")
2.4 intake manifold
Weapon-r Intake

this was on a mustang dyno btw, if it matters

Max wheel horsepower: 161
Max wheel torque: 148

and if you notice they only ran to 6300rpm. the hp curve hasn't began to drop yet, so if it would have been closer to redline, i may have gained an extra hp or 2

not bad. auto of manual?

FASTL61 04-10-2009 11:04 PM

with 160 to the wheels im guessing 5 speed?

07blackg5 04-10-2009 11:13 PM

yeah 5 speed. i was pretty excited to hear 161. even the zzp guys were surprised

FASTL61 04-10-2009 11:28 PM

Ya thats really good man especially since were like 150ish stock and your putting 161 to the wheels.bad ass.I need to get that 2.4 mani ASAP :D

blackbolt89 04-12-2009 12:23 AM

you should def get that 2.4 mani, its awesome.

and btw auto cobalts are ftl

i can't figure out how to dyno this fucking thing. whenever you try a pull in 3rd gear the trans want to kick you back to second. thus screwing with the reading. :(

Well you put down in the mid 130's stock, so 160whp is a great boost. Was this including a dyno tune or just boltons on the stock tune?

bump for answer

07blackg5 04-12-2009 04:24 PM

stock tune

_UnLiMiTeD_ 04-12-2009 04:43 PM

good numbers, with a tune you should get another 10hp from it or more

07blackg5 04-12-2009 05:53 PM

:guns: lol

G5Wisz 04-13-2009 06:38 PM

awesome stuff... i should have the 2.4 mani in a couple weeks at most. im fully bolted, intake and got the trifecta tune, i am auto but hopefully i will hit 160+ as well

unijabnx2000 04-13-2009 07:58 PM

Is there a 2.4 manifold kit that comes with everything for the 2.2?

warrenb213 06-01-2009 04:11 AM

i just ran across this. wish i had sooner. we'll see what mine runs w/ Injen in CAI mode, no aftermarket exhaust, 2.4 mani, and dyno tune with redline set to 7k.

sounds like it should be interesting. :-P

hoping for about 155

07blackg5 06-01-2009 11:06 AM

t think thats aiming a bit high. 2.2s are like 126-128 whp stock. ricer math in 12 for the manifold, 4ish for the intake and a handful for the tune, i would say 145ish would be more realistic. maybe closer to 150 if you're lucky.

you are letting the engine suck more air in efficietly, but not letting it get out efficiently. its like trying to eat like a champ at a buffet, but being constipated. doesnt work too well

warrenb213 06-01-2009 12:13 PM

we shall seeeeee. lol

D1sclaimer 06-02-2009 04:49 AM

pretty sure you were on a dynojet like me. on mustang dyno's, the numbers are typically 10%-12% less. dynojet's report more towards like flywheel power.

i've been told the intake manifold on the 08-09 series 2.2L is alil different then the before years, but they do at CED buts its only for 05-07 2.2L and its over priced, but u can just order the parts separately for cheaper anyway, they're only 3-4 parts that u need since u can re-use alot of the ones off ur current intake manifold, just for to gmpartsdirect.com and newgmparts.com and u can get the parts u need

12587878: Intake Manifold, 1st design LE5 $125ish

12600729: Seal, Throttle Body $10ish

12589516: Seal, Crankcase vent $10ish

2.4L brake booster hose, or extend yours.

unijabnx2000 06-02-2009 02:25 PM

are those GM part numbers?
or for a certain website?

hackeragent061 06-04-2009 11:23 PM

those r the gm part numbers if u use those 2 sites, i'm orderin mine now and i hav an 05 so i have to buy the adaptert plate from CED while i'm gettin the other 3 parts from gmpartsdirect.com and the booster hose from auto zone and only payin $200 total shipped while the whole kit from CED cost $275 shipped so its worth the time to just search and find all the parts u'll need for ur yr

07blackg5 06-05-2009 05:40 PM

i got mine for like 110 for everything shipped :) :)
