What will I make?

Here's the setup:
All the mods in my sig, plus:

Forged 9.5:1 pistons from OTTP
Comp cams (Don't know specs, he said mild)
forged rods&rod bolts
ported head
New stock valves &valve springs
And maybe a custom header
all mated to a g85 trans new clutch and a badass driver (yo mamma) behind the wheel.

Should be assembled and on the road by wednesday evening...I'll get a dyno sheet scanned and uploaded here (hopefully) by friday.

Sooo, what do you think I'll make?

BTW. this really is happening. My motor blew up.....I needed a new one so I'm building this monstrosity.

Oops. Pistons are actually from wiseco. Comp cam specs:

210/206 @ 1mm and 10.78mm/10.69mm lift, 109 LSA

yes. Before it blew, it was pushing about 15-16psi boost.

you only have a h/e and an intake.... so heat won't be on your side. and you're on the stock valvetrain so don't be expecting to rev over 7500. no idea on exact numbers but you should be able to do 300s with the cams and ported head

IAT's sat pretty stagnant at 80° doing full dyno pulls at 80-90° ambient. Temps won't go too much lower, even with other mods.

Plus, I'll have less boost with the portingand possible header, which will equate to lower IAT and pistons will be coated to reduce heat soak. I don't think heat should be too much of a problem..but I could be wrong.

~300+ is what I'm hoping for. realistically. 320 if I'm lucky..

trust me, with a 2.7 and only a h/e, youre iat2s are going to be sickening.

yeah if you only made 247whp on a 2.7 your loosing power to heat. unless you were on a low reading dyno...

I don't understand...?
I got it tuned with thee 2.7 and 60's. IAT2s were sitting at ~80° from idle to 7krpm. the number hovered around 78-82. Is that high?

Read on a dynojet dyno at 4400 elev.

then something is not reading. your iat2s are not 80*. maybe 180*. but not 80. especially if you only made 247 on a dynojet

They were originally sitting up at 225. I couldn't break 230whp when the temps were so high. Knock was through the roof and Timing was down in the toilet. The problem was the intercooler pump wasn't working. got a new pump and temps went down from 225 down to 80-90. It was on the dyno several times.

I have the stock header and downpipe though. That's probably what's killing me. Most of the 2.7/60's cobalts I've seen run, what? 260-270? Which I could have probably gotten with a less restrictive exhaust (a problem I am going to remedy with the current build)

Make sure u are reading iat2 not iat1. If they are staying the same during the pull then it
Is iat1's. No matter how much cooling u have iat2's will always go up. Just dePends on how much they go up to see how good ur cooling system is.

Are those injectors going to be able to keep up with the ported head? Might need 80's?

I don't know, actually. I don't think I was maxing them out before, so now maybe?? Not sure.

dude your sensor is bad or your reading your iat not your iat2. With your mods your definately getting over 155* on a pull. your iat will only change 1-2 degrees

How's about if I run e85? What then? maybe over 350whp? I know I'll still be battling temps (I'm done arguing about it.) Or whatever, but what then?

how about instead of buying 80s you buy a dual pass and meth injection.

I may do the dual pass, but I'll probably not do meth(hehe do meth) because the way I drive I'd run out of it far too quickly. I'd rather run e85. Same reason I don't run nitrous on my mustang. The dual pass is a good Idea though.

It's a dumb picture that doesn't belong in this thread...?

What kinda power is attainable with e85? Anyone else on here have a built motor on an m62? Am I in uncharted territory? I really don't care too much as long as I'm close to 300. I may not do E(hehe, do E) at all.

stop worrying about what power you'll make with X fuel and start worrying about cooling. you're trying to run a 2.7 with just a heat exchanger. even with the build engine, if you keep neglecting cooling you won't hit 300...
