0 on the ODO

so back in june, my car was parked in front of my house and it rained REALLY hard. the street drains clogged causing it to flood and my car was cought in the middle of that disaster with about 6 inches of water left in the car(after it was all sunny and clear outside) insurance takes it away on a claim and gives me a total loss. i decided to go out on a lemb and buy the car back...any ways moral of the story is my odometer reads 0 miles and doesnt go up as well as my trip miles just show up dashes accross the little screen. my airnbag light has also been on ever since, just wanted to know if anyone has had a similar experience and/or a diognostic? any imput is appreciated

This. The BCM retains the mileage of the car and relays information to the DIC and ECM. The BCM is located under the radio and in front of the shifter. It can be accessed from the passenger side console panel. Do an image search for "Cobalt interior fuse panel" is you can't find it.

i would say check the connections on both might get away with cleaning with dioelectric grease but the pins and connectors are hard to clean without removing one at a time but I would say there toast might get away with just the bcm ya never know good luck.
