07 ss/sc w/pioneer stereo wiring harness
I have searched for hours and still have not found a direct answer on what harness is needed to install an aftermarket deck. I have an 07 with the premium system and no onstar. Can someone give me a straight forward answer on what exact harness(s) are needed?

Wow, don't hardwire it that's just more work than it's worth. The harness you need is the GMOS-LAN-04. It's a bit pricey but it is definitely worth it and even the biggest car audio novice can install it. Hope this helps.

Revomad1, that was all you needed? I actually went out to ask a audio shop and they said that we did need the GMLAN series but they were fresh out. Also just to verify, me getting this and installing my deck should allow my aftermarket subs and amp work properly right?

I can tell you that you probably do need the LAN on the 07's. I have a 07 LS with 0 options and when I did a lil experiment (I unpluged the stereo) I lost my door chimes, seatbelt chimes, and I think thats all. Ive heard that if you loose those you also loose the low oil light and other fun stuff. I cant say if thats true or not, BUT id kinda rather have the peace of mind.

DO NOT HARDWIRE!
GMOS-LAN-04 is all you need. 6 wires to connect the whole thing. It's incredible. Chime is a different tone but does the trick. Works great. Look to spend around $200 for it though.
EDIT:
Guess it helps if I read the whole thread. lol.

Well whats the big deal with hardwiring? Mine is and its fine.. my buddies 06' is also, but only difference is that he has chimes..
his g/f's dad has an 06 Solstice, but it has the update harness like mine.. hardwired his and no chimes, but everything else works..
at the time i had to hardwire when i got my car back in September because everywhere i looked, no one had a damn thing.. no GMOS-LAN 4 or anything like that.. thats why i hardwired mine..
is there any negative side-effect to doing this? or just losing your chimes?

hardwiring is stupid because you lose the ablitity to put the stock radio back, you have to guess which wires are which for any future install, if you get them right you have to cut the wires sorter and shorter for each deck install, and it has the possiblity of decreasing your car's resale value... personally i wouldnt buy a car thats been all chopped up for a hardwire (unless it was a bomb deal id think about it)

how do you lose the ability to re-install the stock unit? lol.. you don't have to guess anything if you mark before you splice.. piece of small tape with a number before you cut on each wire.. when you go to re-connect, you just tap the wire back together.. not that difficult..
and as for new installs, i have on unit and plan to stick with it as long as i own the car.. hardwiring is like buying a car thats been modded.. i wouldn't want a car thats been raped..
but i understand what you mean.. i just thought there was an actual legit reason to why it is bad..

I never tapped the vehicles harness.. only where the lines connect to the amp under the dash.. we ran all new lines.. so its just tap the wires back together, plug the deck in and go.. nothing has been hacked.. it was all wired properly..
