'08 stock Sedan, simple speaker upgrade question (non-Pioneer, non-SS)
Hey gang,
Long-time reader... recent membership and I don't post often... but I need advice.
I have an '08 Cobalt sedan, D.I.C. is in the dash, it's not an SS so there's no sub or Pioneer speakers or anything.
I'm just looking for a simple upgrade for now... so I was thinking speakers?! Any suggestions/advice on what speakers can work with the stock '08 headunit powering them? Not looking for Wal-Mart Sony xPlods, but if y'all think that's better than what I got, shoot...

Would the non-Pioneer Amp/Stock HU be capable of pushing those 70w RMS speakers without the need of an amplifier?
If you're looking to power them off the HU itself, I would recommend anything 50w RMS or below. I purchased $50 Pioneer's from Best Buy to be powered with my Pioneer AVH-P3300BT and haven't had a single complaint. It's not the best if you're an audiophile in any scenario, but it beat the crap out of my stock speakers the second I started listening to them. I have no amplifier on the speakers, only the HU powering them.
