1/8 inch jack install in an '06

I want to install an 1/8 inch jack in my car to plug in my Droid but dont really know where to start. Has anyone tried it or has any tips for doing so? I have a stock radio in there currently. Thanks!

How to forum has your answers. Hope you're good with wires.

I think you have to either replace the radio or get the FM transmitter.

i called an audio installation place around the area and they said they could get a wire that would connect to the back of the radio for like $110. Im just wondering if what they're saying could even work or should i just get the newer head unit...

Just wait for Best Buy to have that deal that any head unit over $99 is free installation. But one that has an auxilary jack and you're set!

if its a wireless FM modulator dont do it. quality sucks BAD. the wired ones arent bad but still not great either

Yeh FM Modulators can work well but its really something thats area specific. (works well in some areas and not so well in others)

If youre away from a lot of radio stations and can cycle through your radio and get a lot of blank stations.. then FM Modulator can work.

If you bought a deck from crutchfield, you get stuff for free that other places would charge for.

A cable may be hard wired to your system but if anything is done that includes FM modulation.. thats not hardwired.. thats an FM modulator connected to your droid sending over the air a signal to your radio antennae and then played out your stereo.

well wireless is just that. the wired ones plug into ur antenna so its going directly in if that makes sense but its still an fm modulator so quality isnt going to be as good as a direct aux in
