I was under the assumption that all 2.4 ss's came with the pioneer sub setup... if it doesn't does that meant that it aslo does not have the amp on the speakers too? What im getting at is what kinda audio setup does it have if it doesnt have the sub and is an ss? i feel like i got shafted cuz i got a 2.4 balt shipped thru carmax, and when i looked in the trunk it didnt have it. I was kinda set on getting it too, cuz my cavy subs and amp were stolen a week ago and ive had no music and no bump, but at least having a stereo will be alot better. The only good thing about it is that i woulda put aftermarket stuff anyway cuz i have a friend that gets mtx audio for 75% off and i was gonna go with that anyway.

that would be the 2.4SS SuperStripped model. lol I believe they do all come with the pioneer system.... does it say pioneer on the tweeters by the mirrors? if so you have the system...and it looks like someone ripped it out lol.

for some reason... some of the carmax ss's have a thing that says "premium radio delete- sound system" i dont understand why they would do this, but im gonna ask before i pick it up completely

they all come with it. the 07s do anyways. someone took yours out i guess. the only "option" i have on my car is a block heater and i still have all the power stuff and the pioneer system.


i only have 1 option worth $65 otherwise it is a base model ss. just the way i like it.

I believe they DO come stock on the 2.4l. I've never heard of someone not getting it before.
Now the radio is a different story. Some of them come with an MP3 jack, I got a gimped up one that does not.

what year do you have? i beleive the 05s didnt come with them, my brothers doesnt have one and its an 05.

mine's a 2006... and the cd player says mp3, doesnt that mean it should have it? i'm gonna call them and find out. can anybody provide proof for me that it should come with it so that i can use it for ammo?

As in the '05 2.4SSs that were never made? Lol. The 2.4SS model Cobalt wasn't introduced until 2006 bro.

Col3aLt $$......you've seriously never heard of Carmax??? They're all over the US. They're a big used car company that certifies all their used cars, and has a huge online database of their cars, so if you find a car you like at a Carmax in a state far away, they'll ship it to a Carmax near you. I have two Carmax's near me, both within 50 miles of where I live.

JoeWorksTooHard (on here), His car was bone stripped... He bought it brand new with no options, except what came stock. Which means he bought a 2006 Cobalt SS 2.4 withOUT the Pioneer sound system. So it IS possible...

The highest MPG I've ever gotten my SS up to was 34mpg on my trip from VA to SC this past fall.

it has the mp3 headunit tho, i thought that was an option that had to come with the pioneer system. I guess ill find out when i get there to seal the deal and drive off with my ride.

no my brother has an lt. i know its now an option on the lts but i dont even think you could get it in 05 could you?

i posted my window sticker for you. its posted under standard options...what other proof do you need?

nah not really. im not a fan of cruise control so i probably get worse than i should but i usually get about 32 in the summer time. in the winter the engine works itself way harder and 45 would be an acid trip.

I have an 06 2.4 SS and I don't have the Pioneer system or a sunroof. Those would have been extra. Now I'm wishing I would have bought the SS/SC but at that time I couldn't have afforded it.

Silver face radio and it's MP3 but no sub or door tweeters.

Well the sunroof was an option for me, but the Pioneer sound system was standard when I ordered my car.

urs is an 07 though, its seeming to me that it was standard starting then.

some 2006 2.4s do not have the pioneer system. mine didn't

and, it WAS standard in 06, but there was an option to not get it

its not worth it? 200watts is good enough for me... is it really weak or something? i mean, cuz i have access to kicker products next week for 75% off but i kinda wanted the stock system cuz it fits well and i wont have to worry about space.

damn...why would u not want it.i mean do u really save that much?i do have a question tho...since i didnt get it, do the rest of the speakers have an amp on them?

look under your dash to see if theres an amp. Normally the silver HU doesnt have much power because it has the amp but who knows ur car is an oddball.

I would say try and get the stock sub enclosure and throw in a slim 10 (like the fosgate P3 shallow) aftermarket amp and get a set of componants up front. It would sound alot better then stock and save u a lil bit of hassle
