2009 Stereo and Zune

So I have an 07 SS with the Pioneer sound system. I like the system, but do not like that the only aux input is via 3.5 MM jack. After reading about the 2009 system, I am curious to know a few things regarding the Zune.

1) Will the Zune even play music through the stereo when connected via USB?
2) Will it show the song information on the stereo display?
3) Will the steering wheel buttons control track playback?

Thanks in advance.

Not sure on a zune but a iPod/iPhone does all that. Be interesting to find out. I almost think it would because even a USB drive works

Well I was curious about a aftermarket deck for my zune as well. However, since everyone and their mom supports ipods none for zune. I also read elsewhere that an aftermarket deck with usb will not run the zune for some reason. Sigh, only zune support I believe is ford sync project w/ microsoft.

That'd be awesome. I'd hate to look into swapping out my head unit if it was for nothing.

well i have heard you have to have your head unit unlocked by a dealer in order for you to be able to use it

the zune will not play through the usb on the pioneer or transmit the songs either , everything ive done with usb only works for IPOD, usually you have to use USB to charge the zune and 3.5 to play the music!

correct, the zune does NOT work. It says incompatible usb device. So aux is the only way to play a zune.

The USB port on all headunits are meant for one of two things:

Charging Ipods or other players via the usb cable connector, or playing MP3's off of a USB thumbdrive or .

Other than that, it won't do anything else.

I would say that it depends on the head unit whether it would work or not.

the zune does not work on aftermarket HUs, the usb will charge the zune , and the headphone to headphone AUX will play audio.

I'm gonna write a letter!!!!! lol

Im just not a fan of apple products, everyone i have known has had to replace their iphone and or their ipod. I have had my zune for like 4-5 years and the only problem i had with it was the december 31 jan 1 b.s. I think its gay that they won't support zunes.

I'm going to be using this kit really soon
Soundgate ZNCBLPAK Core System Package

he SoundGate ZNCBLPAK Core Zune adapter package lets you use your Zune with your factory or aftermarket stereo. The package includes the compact SoundGate Core module with integrated Zune dock connector, audio/video RCA and stereo minijack cables, plus a 12-volt power adapter and a permanent power harness.

You simply install your Zune in the Core module's dock to provide charging and enable control. The module features a minijack out connection, as well as an input for SoundGate's optional REMCORE remote control. You can either hard-wire the module to your car's power supply or connect the 12-volt adapter to a cigarette lighter port.

Use the included audio/video RCA cable to run music and video from the Core module to a stereo with RCA audio/video inputs, or hook up the minijack cable to your stereo's auxiliary input for an audio connection. SoundGate's optional REMCORE remote gives you fingertip control over your media library while your Zune stays stored safely away.
