3 12" jl w6 vs 1 jl w7 12"

I have a mrp-m500 amplifier and a jx 1000 amplifier, if i got 3 jl w6 12" i would have 500 watts going to each one. But if i got the jl w7 12" id only have the jx 1000 going to it. Which setup would be better in terms of spl and loudness??

Let me get this straight if you get 3 subs you want to put 2 different amps on it?

Jx 1000 to two jl w6's and the mrp-500 to the 3rd

theres alot more variables to this then you are putting in your question. but short and simple the 3 12s would be louder.

2 different sub amps like that isnt a good idea and 3 12s ported isnt a good idea either. also the w7 isnt a SPL woofer. (neither is the w6 but....)Just do 2 w6's on the 1k in a good ported box and it will be the best setup for what you are looking at.

right both are geared for SQ more than SPL. but the W6 is more "SPL" than the W7. A single W7 should get louder than a single w6 just because he w7 can handle more power but in all reality the w7 isnt a spl woofer at all.

If SPL is your only goal and you dont have the subs yet i would possibly look into a different brand (depends what all you can get to be honest) but if you already have the equipment id stick with it. JL isnt going to be an SPL beast but with a good install and good box u can get them w6's to be pretty loud.

given your power i would go with a 3500. a 3500 would destroy a W7 in terms of SPL. W7 would sound better and play lower though. 9500 is basiclly a 3500 on steroids but its less efficent. so since you dont have gobs of power the 3500 would be louder in your situation.

The only thing about DD is they are very very good in good boxes. but only so so in **** boxes. JL generally is good in **** boxes and better in a good box.

any sub is reliable if you set it up and treat it well.

IMO JL Audio is overpriced, you are being sold a name. 1000 watts RMS is no joke. I would go with something from Sundown Audio, Skar Audio, or American Bass just my $.02. To answer your earlier question more subs = more bass but ultimately your sound is only as good as your box so invest in a good one

WoofersEtc.com - SA-10 D2 - Sundown Audio 10" Dual 2-Ohm SA Series Subwoofer

^^^ these subs are legit and would decimate JL for SPL

It's a toss up but if I had to choose one I'd go with Sundown but the DD 3500 would be more in the same range of the Sundown X or Z series. I think Sundown has better build quality and can handle the abuse but that's just my opinion

Sundown is good stuff no doubt but you have to remember that DD (at least last i checked) is built in the USA (Oklahoma) vs sundown built in china. Now im not saying that you cant have quality stuff build in china or **** stuff built in the USA but DD def would have the advantage as far as a more direct grasp on quality control.
