i have custom made tail lights which require tapping to the factory tail light harness.
i had them hooked up before no problems but requires about 8 quick splices looked real cob job and all that. the tail lights are disconnected now (my hptuner disconnected them when diagnosing my car because i was having electrical problems not related to the tail lights)

im looking at this harness i see on ebay that simply plugs into the bulb socket than i could solder the wires to the tail lights to the corresponding wires on the harness (ground, running. brake/turn signal)

anyone think it'd be fine? reason id like to buy this is because i want to hook up my tail lights again but really don't want to splice or solder into my stock harness again. using this i feel would be easy to disconnect them and all that whenver inwas to get rid of them. and it simply will be a cleaner install and i dont have to worry about tapping into the stock harness.
I tried contacting the seller about it but they havent responded to my pm. why i have no clue. but i was thinking of ordering it and if they doesn't ship ill file a paypal claim

So your talking about cutting off the female end on that harness and just using the male end for a quick disconnect instead of tapping into the wires behind your stock female connection.

Ya, that would work really good. How are your custom tail lights mounted? Leds glued inside or somethings?

 

yea. either cutting the one end off or just putting it in the tail light with out a bul either or.
and yeah the rings are glued together than glued to the inside of the lense.i just dont want to tap to the stock harness again.
im just hoping the physical harness works.
im just going to buy them and plug the harness into the bulb socket than plug a bulb to the other end of the harness and make sure it functions 100%. if it does than im good to go

seller doesnt respond to pm's but oh well if they dont ship them to me than filing a claim it is. i mean obv the black wire is ground. and red is either running or brake/turn. and green is vise versa. so i guess its worth a shot.


these are my tails. inside the outer ring is the another ring which is turn signal and brake the lights lit in the video are ALL running.

Ya, should work just fine. Plug it in and use a volt meter to check which is running and which is brake. Seller has pretty good feedback, I wouldn't worry too much probably just busy or not checking messages.

 

yeah thats my plan.
just gotta figure out what one to buy. the one in the first post or the other one. the other one says minature and is 5.99 compaired to 9.99

all the listings are the same i believe the ones that are 5.99 are for ONE harness and the ones for 9.99 are for 2 harnesses. becae the listing says x1 and x2 and what the minature is all about i think im just going to buy the one in the first link. which is Item #:140819694304. for 9.99 which says x2 as in 2 harness's because last thing i want is to buy 2 and have 4 harness's

 

They actually all say miniature in the listing description. Just that 1 also says it in the title. They are all the same except some listings are for x2 and some x1.

 

so you think itd still work?? i mean a 3157 bulb is a 3157 bulb. they dont make them in minature do they???
i was going to order today.

 

bought the harness i posted in the first post. so ill wait for it to ship and see if it works.

 

Ya, I've never herd of a miniature 3157. It's probably referring to the length of the wires.
