Adding amp while Factory powering speakers

I have just finished installing my headunit. My speakers have to much bass in the which ruins any music i listen to so ive been thinking on switching my amp and sub. Is it possible to keep the stock amp to only power the speakers and how do i remove bass in my speakers, my old car never had this problem. Also how do i add a new amp to an aftermarket hu while still having the factory amp.

Ya that should work. I put in a new headunit, which I have the bass at 0 and I use the sub out to run my 2 12's. It seems to work good.

thats possible. oh also ur HU has a high pass filter. that would remove bass going to any of the stock speakers (stock sub included)

So i should just put the bass at 0 from my HU and add my new amp to the hu and everything should work? I thought when the hu was at 0 the 2 subs wouldnt produce bass

if u have the sub function enabled the "bass" will effect both inside speakers and sub but you will also have an individual "sub" that effects only the subs. and 0 isn't off. there should be a negative like 6 or something and even there ull still get some bass out of both. the only "off switch" would be the individual sub control. or high pass filter for the speakers

so ya if u have the bass at 0 you will still get sound from you new aftermarket subs just fine. id strongly recommend professional tuning of the system once u get it in (or total install would be good too)

Along the same lines, if I wanted to keep the stock head unit, replace the four speakers, keep the factory amplifier to power them, and replace the subwoofer and power that with a new amplifier what would I need for materials? I plan on replacing the subwoofer with another 10" shallow-mount so I can keep the stock enclosure.

power ground remote wire for amp, Line output converter, rcas, silicone to seal factory box. possible modifications may be necessary on the stock box depending on the sub so maybe a dremel or file screws ect

speaker tabs if they arent included with the speakers. thats about it bro thats a pretty basic and easy install with 2 ohm speakers like uve been pming me about

Thanks. Never had to use a line out converter before but I'm assuming it shouldn't be too hard to wire up.
