your deck isnt putting 40 watts to each speakers that peak power you putting more like 15watts to each the factory speakers ( if not the pioneer system) are **** and ya u probley didnt tune the deck or u have a setting like " loud" on or super bass which will just distort the **** out of those factory speakers

i have it on the rock preset, and even at a volume of 20 out of 40 it still sounds horrible like to much is running out of the speaker

if you had the pioneer system then your overdriving the amp and clipping it too soon.

Yeah with aftermarket pioneer HU super bass causes the stock speakers crackle. Man I hate that sound.

mess around with it and see what you can do. Jensen isnt known for the best quality and adding any eq to that isnt going to help. You may also have blown speakers

I know my speakers aren't blown because I plugged the stock HU back in and the crackle stops. I do have problems with the GM-LAN-04 harness though cause every now and then I don't get any sound out of my speakers maybe I need to adjust the pot. on the harness.

I hope its not the Pioneer Z2. I spent about $2000 between the hu and the harness.

trust me when i say this.........those stock speakers are ****......if you look your "tweeter" is a paper cone........do yourself a favor and get some 4-way speakers for the front and 5-ways for the back.........when you install them u will thank me

now im a firm believer in speakers first HU second........the stock speakers cannot handle 40 watts.........thats why they "cackle"

and if you want it really loud..........get a 4 channel amp and hook them up to your speakers.......thats what i did and wow its amazing lol

no hu puts out 40 watts... all of them are 22X4 rms

i agree that speakers arent good at all but take it from someone who does this all day. a correctly setup HU will run stock speakers all day long just fine. better on aftermarket ones but thats beside the point. Find out why it sounds like **** now. try a new hu if u need to

that is what the OP said but that doesnt mean its true. The only reason that every HU in the world makes 22w rms is because thats the maximum you can make without significantly increasing the size of the internal amp because it would require more parts.

Mind you you can always have a smaller amp or a crappier amp... also there's a reason that jensen is cheaper then say pioneer or alpine. sure your paying a bit more for the name but that's not all you get. I'm not saying jensen is crap but you must take all things into consideration. You can easily use one and be fine but you cant crank the settings and expect clear sound. You cant do that with any radio.... my rental 09 impala has blown speakers. 1400 miles when i got it, bass and treble cranked. Just swallow that one for a while
