Alpine headunit help

I have an Alpine CDA-9833. My problem is that my aftermarket amp is on when im listening to the radio, but turns off as soon as I change it to a CD, then it goes back on when I change it back to the radio. Anyone know what could cause this. Ive looked in the settings, but I cant figure anything out. Ive also hit the reset button but it still does the same thing.

Since the amp is on when you have the radio on but not when playing a CD, it sounds like you have the remote wire for your amp hooked up to the power antenna wire on the new head unit. You need to hook the remote wire from the amp up to the remote wire on the head unit.

On cars that have power antennas, they only need to be extended when the radio is on (no sense having the antenna up when CD is on) and this is the wire you're hooked to.
