Amp Recommendation

I'm buying an Infinity REF1052 W, sub woofer in a q logic enclosure off a guy for cheap. It is a 10inch dual voice coil 8 ohm sub woofer rated at 250 watts rms. Anyways, I know nothing about amps and I'm looking for an amp that will make the most of this subwoofer while not being absurdly priced. I would think an amp for a single sub such as this one wouldn't be too much but then again I know hardly anything about car audio so I've come to you guys for help. Thanks.

if it only has 250rms, you could wire the sub a 4 ohms since its dual voice coils, as for an amp one from walmart like an explode or pioneer will do just fine.

He is offering me this amp for cheap with the sub, would this be a good amp for getting a good sound out of that sub?

I would try to get a 2 channel amp or a monoblock amp meaning one channel for one sub, the one on crutchfield is a four channel. To be honest with you I would buy a bigger amp then needed simply because if this is your first sub, you will fall in love with bass and within two weeks want to get something bigger. By buying a bigger amp then needed you will be able to tune it down so if you ever do get anything different all you have to do is buy a new sub.

ya a 4 channel amp is a bad idea and with this sub its worse. FYI its a dual 4 ohm so its wired to 8 ohm but can be rewired to 2 ohm. I would do that and pick up a monoblock amp

that 4 channel amp will give you either 75w bridged or 37.5w on a single channel

How would I go about wiring it to 2ohm? Also, if I was to purchase say a 500watt mono amp would that blow the sub since it can only run at 250rms, or can you adjust the amp to run less wattage? Sorry for being a total noob haha.

not really. you can buy a 500w mono and leave it at 8 ohms. you'd only be getting 125w thou.

You would have to take the amp out of the box and re wire it from series to parallel (pos to pos and neg to neg)

I just bought an Alpine V Power MRP-M1000 and 2 600W kickers with box and it POUND'S. Thats all I know other then that I am new to stereo stuff. I know the amp is supposed to have residual power over the Sub(s).

I can get a good deal on this amp, i'm assuming this amp would be great for pushing that sub but would like your opinions.
