Anyone convert manual windows to power?

I am thinking about doing this and there are several things that I am not 100% sure on. I have gotten mixed responses as to whether or not new door panels are needed for the power option bezels as well as if any additional wiring harnesses are needed. If anyone has done this or has any input on the subject please post. Thanks

I looked into it when I had my LS and it wasn't cheap.... I think you'd need at least a new driver side panel, and of course the bezels. I'd imagine you'd definitely need the new harnesses because there aren't any there now, and of course the window motors. good luck tho, let us know how it turns out!

There's actually a how-to on it. Very very detailed, too.

I purchased the universal Autoloc kits for power windows and doors last week they should be coming in soon so i'll be installing them this weekend... it came out to about $450 with most of the bells and whistles you can add. But i think you can spend under $300 to get the basics with keyless entry. I think im going to end up cutting holes in the door panels for all the switches. I think people have been quoted for $1000+ to have the power package installed by dealers... so thats why i went this route.

Let me know how that goes. I'm thinking about getting the same kit. Still deciding if I want to buy new door panels or not. Online its about $400 a door =/. Or if I want to cut holes right next to the 2nd lighter hole.

Ok so the harnesses are not all the same? I assumed that in todays world it would be easier to make one universal harness and plug in the options that the consumer wants installed. Is this not true for our cars? I was really hoping that i didnt have to get new wiring because I found all the other stock parts for around $300 shipped

Im pretty sure you dont need a new harness..All you have to do is run the wires from the windows to an accessory wire..Under the steering wheel there is an accesory wire that is black and grey..And you can use any switches and mounth them anywhere you want.About the door panels tho if you change to power from manual you will have that whole there where the crank should be but you can get a piece to cover it or you can just cover the door panels in a material

I don't have a problem putting a plug in the hole of my current panels the only thing about the panels that concerned me was the opening for the power bezel. I have been told that the bezel with added switches is too big to fit into the ls panel bezel hole eve if it was cut bigger. This is kind of hard to believe because they look identical except for the crank hole. I think it would just be a matter of cutting a bigger hold out in the armrest area to accommodate for the larger bezel
