The big box is the LAN4 Harness, Plug on the left goes to factory wire harness, Bottom Plug as well as top plug go into back of NAV unit. The two bare wires at the top go to ground, (solid green is mute wire, white and green is parking brake wire) The purple and white wire that is still not extened is the reverse camera tap in wire

now did you get your harness through crutchfield or best buy? i may go get it installed at best buy caz i only know basics about wiring but i do want to bypass so i can have the dvd on and i know they wont do that. is that hard to do?

and what is that thing with the little box attached that u mounted in the back window when you made your video?
I bought my harness through crutchfield, it was 174 but i got it for half-price because i bought a headunit over 129.99. This is how to do the wire bypass which to me was easy as pie. http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=19689

nope, it took me honestly 3 hours to wire it up right and make all the wires the same length. I have installed about a dozen or so regular headunits but no nav units so i took on the challenge and it wasnt that tough because i was famliar with what i was doing, just very tedious

Just a heads up... I have the F700BT... and it was a total peice of crap. The navi can barely tell where it is. It swaps from KPH to MPH all the damn time without touching anything. It locks my Ipod up on a continuous basis which then locks the screen up. It takes at least 3mins to start up. It got me lost about 3 times the other day. I know I shoulda followed my instinct and gone the way I wanted to but figured I'd see where it took me. It tried to send me a good hour out of my way. The map will sit and spin on a major highway as it has no idea where the hell it is. It's like it took a huge software ****. I'm sure I just got a lemon but I'm UPGRADING to he D3 even tho it's last years model. The D3 has way more features then the F700BT does. At least I know it works as my bf has one in his lincoln. Just a heads up to those looking at one. I believe its a "lower" version of the HU in question in this thread. I've had this stupid thing for not even two weeks... I'm trying to get all the **** together for the D3 to get the stupid F700 out to get it back before the 30day warranty runs out. It's so bad I wouldn't even dream of reselling it.

Zinner... would you be willing to part out your D3? Does your bluetooth thing still work? If so would you be willing to sell it. Do you happen to have the HD hook up to? and if so willing to sell it as long as it works?

Just installed a F700BT in the GTO that I bought from ebay for $437 shipped.

Dont mind the missing gauge and lack of radio trim.... Still need to buy a 2nd gauge, and the radio trim is in my back seat, waiting to get sanded and painted.

This unit is ****.... srsly ****... I love it, Did the hardware bypass, all works well... took about an hour once the car was apart, the voice commands are badass.

Heres the easiest way to explain it.

you move the yellow and black mute wire like so... then take that wire, and the light green one from the other pioneer harness and ground them both... Its that easy.

Shame because the 2.0 update is a VAST VAST improvement.

ahh ic. thats a lil more simplified than the site i looked at. instead of grounding them...say i wanted a switch..would i take them to the 'acc. on' on the switch and then just ground the ground of the switch?

Why would you put it on a switch? I dont get it... lol.

You would need to get a SPST switch, run both wires to one leg of the switch and ground to the other, that should break the ground connection... but I dont see the point

the point to it is, if i get pulled over and the cop asks to see the warning screen i need to be able to show it to him. so before i pull over i'll switch the switch off so that the warning screen will come up. if i just straight ground it i'll never be able to bring that up. you know, the one that says 'driving with this dvd screen on blah blah ebrake blah blah' that thing.

Hummm seems useless, planning on watching movies while you drive? lol what roads do you travel so I can avoid them

But the way I posted should work, tho it might says improper handbrake connection... no idea.

Software bypass works, but the parking brake wire still needs grounded... Seemed like less of a hassle for me just to move the mute wire and ground it too.
