I think the problem is that the W7 really isn't a bad speaker its just the price you pay for it that can be a little crazy! My buddy has a 13.5" W7 in his blazer with 3000 watts to it and its insane. but he paid out the ass for just the speaker alone. But honostly its not bad at all but I don't know if its the best, exspecially if money is concerned.

ok ill make u a deal then u take a jackhammer and ill take a RE MT 15 and see who gets louder.

The shop did 148 i belive in a blazer stock electrical with an extra battery and 2kw. I would probably use my 200a alt with my 2 kinetik 16v batts, and 2 incriminator 20.1s for 4kw at 14.4(imagine at 17v)... in a crx of course

dont know much about any new line up but the issues in the past keep me away.

RE XXX/MT, Mojo, W6, Solo X. Yes I said W6.

What a lot of you fail to realize is that the W7 IS NOT BUILT FOR SPL. It it built as a purposefully clean, strong, tight, loud sub that will last forever and take anything you can throw at it. I've never blown one up nor has any carry out customer. If you want to buy a sub just to make tons of bass, you are wasting your money on the W7 when you could just buy a W6 or Mojo for half the price.

I say this as a JL Signature dealer, but even Andy or Lucio himself would say the same thing.

i agree lol notice i didn't really name any subs.

oh and i also think its pretty funny almost everyone named the XXX... the old one is badass (hence me having them) but the new one isnt as good as it seems. RE MX > 06 XXX

I had a MMATS juggernaut sub and 2 MMATS competition amps... it was loud enough to crack the class on my Eclipse's hatch!

Are you kidding me...there are guys doing 155db+ with single 10's.

But all jokes aside...you let me borrow $10,000 ($5500+/- for the sub, $4000+/- for the amps and the rest for the steel enclosure) and if...I mean when I win, I don't have to pay you back

Sounds good to me, I dont know...

Impressive I must say. I just fell in love with mtx and I am biased because of it. All the mtx subs that I've heard hit hard and clean. Mine hit very hard.

Wouldn't be my first choice, but I definitely don't think it's a turd. You could have an array of subs for the same price as the jackhammer, but the question was sub vs. sub, not sub vs. many subs.

There isn't any single sub on the market today that could compete solo against one jackhammer 22 in an spl set-up. It's physics.

and thats where your wrong thou. Its all about the box man. the jackhammer is so big the box it requires is giant and would need to be ultra megazord braced ect. you cant put one of those in a SUV and have enough space to really use the sub at all (even a Suburban with the entire thing devoted to the box except the front seats.. walled)

Lets assume sub size meant anything. Whats louder in 2cu ft of airspace? A single 8 ported, a single 10 sealed, a single 12 sealed, a single 15 sealed or a single 18 sealed? According to your logic the 18 right? yet i can guarantee the 8 would be loudest (all assuming the boxes are built properly)

And if the jackhammer is really so good then how come i don't see anyone using them for SPL world records? Dont say price because people spend money up the ass putting concrete on the floor and steel bracing throughout the car. Only one ive seen that says they are worth anything is pimp my ride and remember their "spl" meter went to 130db

Ahh, I used to respect ya Xzibit, now....

Off topic, I know but it had to be said

The box requirements are only in the 8 cubic foot range. The solo X's for comparison, can use a larger box. 8 cubic feet is nothing in the back of suburban. I personally built a box, with a coworker of mine, housing 4 L7 15's, part fiberglass, part wood, and the box was a little over 12 cubic feet. This all fit fine in the back of a smaller durango. I have pictures if you need to see any. Albeit the box was using the bare minimum requirements, vented, for the sub.

You are seriously smoking crack on this one.

It's a $6000 sub...are you kidding? People don't buy $6000 subs just to blow them up in SPl contests. Alot of money on concrete and steel? Where are you buying your supplies, RobMeBlind Inc.???

are u retarted. thats like saying people don't buy Ferrari's to race.

and yes SPL competitors will pay more in equipment and install stuff then the worth of their car most times.... i just figured since u are a "installer" i wouldn't have to individually name everything.

Real spl subs are:

10" DD Z
retail $3500

10" Cactus sounds MK2
