A bit of help with subwoofer problem

Hi kinda new hers so hi well anyways. i need some help trying to fire out why my sub woofer inst working on my cobalt all the lights and everything works but the sub i tried like 3 different amps still same problem i know the subs work because last car they were in they worked. i used this Electrical Install Subs and Amp without splicing existing wires - Cobalt SS Network sorta like a guide for me so i want or should i say need any ideas or help why its not working. also I'm using an 1800 watt amp and two 10 subs cheap ones dunno brand on either cause it doesn't really matter to me for now.

Are your amps turning on?

If they are, check your RCA's on both ends and make sure they're still connected.

ya the amp turns on. i also forgot to mention that im using scosche 80 watt line output converter 2 channel so i dunno if that could be problem even though i followed instructions for it exactly.

Check the gain level adjustments on the line out converter and amp

so your amp is on. but no power to the subs correct? if your amps on then your remote and power and ground are fine. eliminate that. check the RCA wires. make sure they are still connected. if thats good. check where you hooked up you wires on the speaker to the converter. may have a bad connection. if that checks out. check the converter. make sure they are hooked up in the right place. now if that checks out too. either your subs are junk with bad voice coils. (or voice coil, depending on if you have DVC or not) or worst case scenerio when you hooked up the amp. you made a surge and blew the channel or the main fuse inside the amp. BUT check every single connection in the damn circuit. hope this helps
and one more thing. mess around with that converter some. they have so many little gizmos and whatnot that your switches could be off whereas they need to be on. or they are in the wrong position

but ps. this is why i hooked up aftermarket stereo and got a wiring kit. these problems dont happen as often. but it is your car.

Also scoosh or whatever make bottum line converters, double check and make sure you grounded the wires properly. be careful adjusting the gain on the converter because its very easy to break

I would take a voltmeter and put it to the screws your sub wires are going to to ensure the amp is putting out voltage.

make sure the subs are getting power... try using a different sub. if it works then the subs the problem.

somewhere some how there is a break in the connection. you have to find where it is. cobalt2010 described it, do what he said. you should be able to find it.
