Calculating Box Volume
Either im still high off resin fumes or something isn't right. from my understanding this is the way to calculate cu ft. of a box. say ur box is 28x12x14 inches. that's 4704 cubic inches. now 1 cubic ft. includes 12x12x12 or 1728 cu inches. so my box has 4704/1728 or 2.72 cu ft. Is this math right? if so wtf is up with JL's calculations. They say a box with internal dimensions 17.25x10.25x8.25 inches is some how .625 cu ft. Am I missing something?

Are they subtracting the volume of the cone? When you size a box you have to take into consideration that some of the volume will be taken up by the speaker. If those #s are in a spec sheet for a certain sub my bet is that they have subtracted the cone volume....
