Will a XM-GTR2022 1200 watt amp power 2 12inch alpine type r?

 

no are you crazy... its enough power for one but not 2

 

think of 1200w are be'n split between 2 subs @ maybe 2ohm(?). 600each, then down to 300 @ 4ohm(?). I can't recall tha correct level, but just divide tha max power of amp by 2, then a tad bit less per sub. It'll give a ballpark guess.

 

Your subs will be underpowered. You want the nominal power of the amp to be in the upper third of the nominal power for the sub. nominal or rms, even though they're different they've become synonymous....but yea. to be honest, don't waste your money on xplods, you can get much better amps for that same price. I'd recommend wiring those 2 12's down to 2 ohms and bridging them to get max power out of a cheaper amp.

i would get a 2k watt amp or get smaller subs.. my bros got a 2 10 inch subs wit a 1200 watt amp and thats not too bad cuz theyre smaller...

 

I had 3500 W RMS long ago, man do I miss it :-(

It will power it, but you won't see the R's shine until around 800RMS. They love more power.
