Sounds about right.
Oh yeah, I got the email working through Gmail in Centrafuse.
So, now whenever I park in a Wifi Hotspot and press on the GMAIL button,
it automatically downloads my email and when I highlight a message and press READ, it reads the email to me through the car speakers (well, it will once I get the time to hook it up, but it works through the speakers I have hooked up in back).
I decided that I didn't want to have to download like 14000 messages, so I made a new email account for my car.
maetrixSS@gmail.com
So, everybody help me test it. Send me an email yo!
I need to find some new voices, though. I showed my 7 year old son how it works, and his only comment-"That woman sounds ugly dad."

True.
I just posted the solution that worked for me because I've seen
a ton (okay, maybe I exaggerate a little) of posts on the internet regarding startup/shutdown issues with the M2-ATX (my power supply).
What I didn't see, however, were any acceptable solutions. The threads went cold, and
no one would post back to help others who might encounter this problem.

I am building my own car PC and I have a question on the audio section. I have a 2009 Cobalt SS with the Pioneer sound system, so I am assuming it has a built in amp. So I am planning to hardwire the output from the sound card directly to the speaker connection on the stock radio harness. Would this work? Or do I still need a separate amp?

To be honest, I don't think that you should use the speaker outputs that you would
normally use to plug in your speakers. They will drive a very low power passive (non-amplified) speaker.
Most motherboards have a internal front panel speaker header, which many CarPC cases use for RCA outputs.
Here, let me get you a pic to show you.
On the left of the board, you can see the RCA outputs (Normal Interconnect cables)
They hook via the gray ribbon cable to the motherboards front panel audio connector, and are good for line level outputs to your amplifier.

So if I do what Maetrix suggested, then it would be ok to connect the RCA outputs to the speaker connection at the radio plug after I remove the stock radio? Would I need anything else in between? Thanks for the help guys.

Yeah, I had to ask that question to Emp already.
The "speaker" outputs in the factory plug (at least with the Pioneer system) are just
preouts in seperate conductors (i.e. seperate wires instead of jacketed RCA's).
So, you just strip the connector from the end of the RCA, twist the outer wire to the side, remove the insulation from the core wire, and solder them to the appropriate speaker leads in the Metra harness. (Outer wire in RCA is ground)

Still trying to free the RCA's and Metra harness from the wife.
I think I am going to reformat and reinstall XP (too many hard shut downs from when I was working the bugs out of the Power Supply setup.
Plus, I get another brief use of the Bluetooth demo, LOL
Have you gotten any pics up yet of your install progress??

Ok, one more question on how to hook up the audio. So now I understand how to get the audio from the RCA jacks (BTW I am using the Intel D945GCLF2 with the MoCoSo case). But the PC outputs 2 channels (L + R). How do I connect it to 4 channels on the Pioneer system (L + R and F + R)? Thanks.

maetrix took a diff route than i. You could use any mini-ITX case, they are all pretty much the same size. This way you could run a add-on soundcard via PCI. This is a major advantage the current "automotive" cases do not offer. The ZoomPC case only offers 2 channels. More channels could potentially be tapped into though, depends on the motherboard ya use.

....unless you get one of those sweet @$$ cases that have 1 PCI slot......
Just use two Y adapters, and seperate the front and rear from left to right.
So Front Right=Rear Right
Front Left=Rear Left

Ah yes the 4th gen case. it was on my excel list of options at home, lol. can't believe i forgot it.
maetrix's way works just fine. you just won't have a fader if you go this route. But honestly chances are you'll want the rear to copy the fronts anyway so go that route. It's only in Dolby movies you'll be able to tell it's not true 3d surround.

But if Dolby Digital or dts(woot!) is important to you, you can either get the case with the PCI slot, go with a MITX slim desktop case (which I think is the route that warrenb213 is going, or work something out with an external sound card.
I am holding the option open of going 4 channel (or ghetto 5.1 with a 1 small 1 channel amp for the center channel) if a new MITX board comes out with the Nvidia Ion platform down the road.
The goog thing is that the MITX standard is becoming more popular, so there will be options down the road.

For those of you who have located the PC in the trunk, what path did you take to route the cables to the dash? And what moldings, etc did you remove to enable the wiring routing and how difficult was it to remove the moldings?
