Changed battery. Now stereo doesn't work

I just changed the battery on my 2007 SS/NA. The car starts fine, but now the stereo does not turn on. There is nothing on the display, and even the warning sounds do not come on (key in ignition with door open, turn signals, etc). The battery was disconnected for about 30 minutes while I had to change the plug for the vent. Did I do something wrong? Is there anything I can do without having to take the car to a dealer?

UPDATE!!: I found out that when I press the info button, the clock comes on for about 5 seconds. Also, I can insert and eject CDs, but it still does nothing else

The "warning sounds" are played through the radio. No radio, no warning sounds.

First thing I would check would be the fuse.

In your owners manual it will tell you how to unlock it.

I looked at the manual, but didn't see anything on unlocking the radio. Only messages that may appear if the stereo is locked

try disconnecting the battery negative for 10 mins and reconnecting. sounds like the bcm isnt telling the radio to turn on, not sure how to fix that or why that would "break"

Yeah, definitely sounds like the radio is getting power but it isn't turning on. If it was locked it should display LOC or LOCK or something similar, so it simply isn't turning on. I am going to guess that your radio may have taken a crap at this point...

Thanks, everyone. I figured it out. I had an aftermarket iPod kit installed. Once I removed it, the radio came right on. When I tried to reinstall the iPod kit, it wouldn't work. I'm wondering if something shorted out on the iPod kit when the new battery was installed.

Well, that is definitely better than having to get a whole new radio! At least you figured it out.

Actually, your comment on the unit getting power but not turning on is what led me to think that. It's not a total loss since I don't use my ipod as much these days.
