Cigarette Lighter Not Working

My cigarette lighter directly under my stereo hasn't worked since I got my car. I've read around the forums but can't seem to find anything that will help. I read that it's on with the OBD? My OBD port works fine. My other cigarette lighter also works fine. I've looked in both fuse boxes and found no blow or missing fuses that seem like they could be the cigarette lighter. Any suggestions? Should I replace it?

I took off the drive side kick panel and felt up in behind and the wires all led right to it. Is there a way to pull it out without breaking it so I can check the wires for voltage? Kind of hard to get at it from behind

pull up your shifter trim and the rear cupholder trim and pull up on the console trim outside of the shifter....move it back a little bit and you should have easy access to the cig lighter plug.....also, just because a fuse doesn't look blown doesn't mean that the contacts aren't shitty....use a meter to check the fuse.

Just replace the fuse. much easier and only costs like $5 at most for package of fuses. Mine did same thing. Easier then tearing all apart if you dont have to. You should have extra fuses in empty spots from factory. Check manual for location of cig lighter fuse.....it should be in the box under the hood.

I checked the fuses with a fuse tester

I found a ton of articles online and on here where only the one was working, and they said it was on a different circuit with the OBD power. I just haven't found anything helpful toward fixing it yet.

I just fixed my lower lighter socket. Apparently the person who owned it before me modified the lower lighter for the 12V power supply and didn't splice it back together properly. The LOWER lighter is on a different power route than the upper outlet. The upper outlet is tied into the OBD harness. The best thing I could recommend if you can't get it resolved by fixing the issue outright is to splice into the lower one with wire blades. A bag of 8 Male / 8 Female 16ga wire blade connections are $2.79 @ Radioshack. I would also recommend using a bit of solder to make sure you have good connections.

Good Luck!

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM!
HERE IS WHAT I DID...

After taking the car to my dealer the cigarette lighter below the climate control stopped working, but the other lower one was still working.

I checked the fuses in the manual and it says there are two fuses. The lower cigarette lighter seems to be wired to the same fuse as the light in the trunk which protects the driver in the circumstance that one burns out. This way you still have a way to charge something.

Therefore
1. under the hood open the fuse box
2. Locate the 15A fuse labeled LTR (this is the cigarette lighter below the climate control)
3. See if it's burnt, or better off testing the continuity with a multimeter
4. If it's burn replace it.
NOTE: If your lower right cigarette lighter doesn't work find the 20A fuse labeled TRUNK/ OUTLET, and repeat steps 3 & 4.

Hope that helps.
Good luck
