Component Speakers

I'm planning on adding a set of 6.5" component speakers to the front of my new SS w/o the Pioneer system. Has anyone done this? How is it running the speaker wire into the door? Is there room in the door for a crossover?

Also, I'm probably going to see if the dealer can get me some tweeter pods for a car that came with the Pioneer system so I don't have to cut the holes myself. Has anyone else done this?

Thanks
Jamie

not very hard at all. you can remove the factory tweeter, and fabricate your own mounts for the aftermarket tweet.. The 6.5" woofer will fit directly into the facotry location. Just use the output form the deck to be your new crossover input, and then you will have 2 outputs, 1 for woofer, and 1 for tweet.

i just watched our dealers cobalt training video and be careful upon removing the front door panels. apparently, according to the video a lot of people have tried to remove the pionner tweeter moulding at the top of the door panel by itself before removing the door panel. the tweeter moulding is heat-staked to the main door panel, so it will break if trying to remove it by itself. remeber to remove the entire panel with the tweeter moulding at the same time. hopefully this helps if you already did not know this.
