In Dash Dvd Player Operating While In Drive

I Know All Of These In Dash Dvd Players Only Play Movies In Stuff If The Car Is In Park Or Not In Motion. Is There A Way To Get Around This ? Can You Hardwire The Player To Still Work While In Drive. I Am Not Going To Be Watching Tv While I Drive But What My Girl Wants To Watch While On A Long Drive Or Something ??

For most units exept alpine you can just ground the wire that is suppose to go to the e-brake. Alpine its more difficult.

there's usually always a way to get around this. Pioneer is the easiest Alpine is tough, but I havent done a kenwood yet although I heard it was done like the Alpine. What is the model # of your unit? I might be able to find out

just ground the ebrake wire and the deck ground wire together, its really simple, ive done it on my kenwood and my buddy;s pioneer, really easy. if it is however, a navigation system, i've seem some kenwood systems, that will not run the dvd/navigation unless your car is stopped and the e brake is pulled up, if you dont have a navigation system, just ground the wire like i said

actually there is a way to bypass the AVIC-N2, and its very simple but you have to be careful. The only reason why you cant just ground the wire is because there is a gyro inside the deck that lets it know if the vehicle is in motion.

Ive heard with the AVIC ones with gyro you have to connect the screen to the rear camera input, the only problem is it will say "objects on screen are closer then they appear" when ever it is on.

on the bottom of the unit there is a silver sticker usually, if you peel it off there should be two silver solder points just jump them togther and you've bypassed the gyro

What about the AVIC-Z1? There is no way to bypass that one with any kind of wiring.

I'm not sure but if someone needed to I could try to find out. But Pioneer has always made it pretty easy to bypass thats why they can sell so many, though personally I dont like pioneer.

Kenwood isnt really high end. They dont put enough effort and research into there car audio. A couple years back they were going to stop making car audio all together.

At high end for head units i would put alpine and eclipse for the easily available for speakers and subs there are way to many smaller names that are really high end to name.

I agree Alpine is a good name especially for normal users. But Eclipse, well the good Eclipse has 8v pre-outs, and there arent many amps that are compatable.

i use kenwood cause of their 5v preout, interface, controls, and options, i''ve had the alpine, it stuck out about 2 inches from my dash cause the "brain" was built in, unlike the kenwood. that and cause i had 2 amps and everything for hook ups was conveniently located together (brain and amps) in the trunk. the alpine was also 2v and i really didnt want that,

now eclipse, amazing stuff, luv the 8v pre-out, and im sure all amps will use the 8v preout, just gotta turn the gain all the way down,
