I am not positive about the air space but I know you only have a little over 3" mounting depth before you hit the window if it is down.

90 decibels at speed? Lol

Seriously though, you're going to have trouble getting sealed air space in there since water gets in from the top and you can't seal the drain holes at the bottom for that reason.

You can get a sealed enclosure in there if it is for something small. I have my door speakers in a sealed enclosure. The door speakers of the LS (I assume the SS is the same) are on a bracket that are almost in the shape and size of a 5x7. Because of this you almost have to make a bracket for a 6.5 to fit in there anyways. You might as well go all out and make a sock like fiberglass enclosure at the same time since you will need to custome something to get a speaker in there anyways.

well depending on what i can and cant do i may do something mild like 2 comp sets but if i can get it to work my main goal is to have the entire bottom glassed so i can get an enclosure for the hx2 8.... and small sealed encosures for 2 fnq comp sets (ive decided not to use the 4" that comes in the 3 way). Then have most of the visible part wrapped in vinyl and maybe a little bit of painted fiberglass if i can come up with something creative. Then the inside of this would be covered in rino liner or a similar spray on waterproof liner.

Im also lookign to use hushmat on my doors but i would apply some liquid dead skin over any exposed mat to add extra waterproof protection... im just unsure at the total cost as of right now and i probably wont start for a little while since im still working on the center speaker(s)/head unit

Door volume?

Fill up a big thing of water and measure volume. Remove door and put it in water. Measure volume. Find the difference of the two and you have the exact volume of the door.

this sounds exactly like what im setting up for... except im going all focal.

8" sub in the rear of the door... and 2 sets of components in the front...

as far as the moisture thing, just dont leave the crossovers in the doors and you'll be ok... even marine speakers rust lol

umm deadskin and hushmat all the same... just do the whole inside and outside... like make it as solid as possible and you'll be good...

well im probably going to get the 360.2 before i start any of the door work but if i were to use all of the speakers i would need some type of passive since the 360 only allows 2 badndpass outputs per channel or something like that (rf tech answer)

hey by ancy chance have you looked at how much space is in the dash above the hvac vents? im looking to get some center channel speaker(s) up in there

Just an FYI, the water gets in there at the front of the window near the mirror, between the window itself and the black moulding under it. Quite a bit of water gets in there too.

Yeah I noticed that when I had my front speakers installed, should this be a big problem? Will it damage my speakers?
