Door Speakers

Door Speakers
So I've had an aftermarket alpine head unit for a while now, but once i start turning the volume up past ~20 the voice begins to get really distorted and I hate it lol I'm thinking about getting some new door speakers and my options are to get either Alpine components or coaxials to match the head unit or to get some polk audio components (i hear nothing but good about polk so i figured it would be an upgrade to the stock speakers in my LS). Any input on which speakers are better? I'm leaning more towards a component with the separate tweeter to separate the highs from the mids.

So whats better in this case, the apples or the oranges? lol I'm leaning more toward the polk audio ones because I've never really heard anything bad about polk, just that they sound amazing. I figured some components and a decent 4 channel amp would sound nice.

If you're looking for clean sound, invest in one set of high end components and a 2 channel amp. The rear is nice, but it's more of a filler from your listening position. What exactly are your goals here?

Right now I want to get some components for the front so I can hear the words to the music better when I have it turned up. Ultimately I will get an amp to power them cause I know they will sound better with one.
Off topic, but I used to have 2 12" audibahn woofers in a ported box in my old car (3200W of peak power) they were loud as ****. I had components in it (pioneers in front and pioneer 6x9's in the rear) and I could hear the voice perfect compared to my stock speakers now. When I turn the volume up to 20 on my head unit the voice is all distorted from the bass. So I want to get speaker that separate the mids from the highs.

right but the pioneer system is optional for ls model cobalts too. anyway the reason i asked is the problem you having makes much more sense if you had the pioneer system.
if your goals are louder and cleaner then most speakers including the polk and alpine should do that for you (co-ax would be louder then component without an amp) now if you want bass and the distortion problem is caused because of that then almost any speaker will fix the "problem" of distortion due to bass by just not having as much bass
