there is a thread somewhere on here of pictures of people who have nav systems
here is a picture of my former avic d1. I'll have to take a picture of the Z1 when I get my car back hopefully later this week.

It is illegal to drive while watching movies on screens that are in the divers POV. IE flip out or indash dvd/recivers. It is however posible to bypass it and you will have to almost certianly have to pay cash and get no recipt... though most places will honer warrentys. My friend has his hooked up to a toggle switch that is not visible and when you toggle the swich in the correct pattern it lets you watch dvds.... "full metal jacket" was the last one we watched. If you dont toggle the switch then it tells you that it is illegal to watch movies with out the cars in park and with the emergancy break engadged and only plays cds.
IMO this has been one of the best installs i have seen... very clean and covert

Damn you to hell! j/k The $130 harnessis not necessary please do not waste your money. I have a Pioneer HU I am trying to sell on here and I have it hardwired with no problems. You will retain all factory chimes and the driver information center without buying the expensive harness. See the sticky if you have any questions about this. Btw, I am slo getting the D3. If you need a dash kit see my post on the Metra double-DIN kit for the part #.

i don't have onstar and all i had to do was just call metra for a "replacement radio harness" for our car for a double din install but you have to make sure you say its for a double din its about 25-35 dollars it retains everything its a little box about 2 1/2x4" at most it plugs into the factory harness and gives you a constant 12v and acc power wire you have to find our own ground wire and illumination but thats it i will try to get the actual part number tomorrow
and about the dvd yeah you can't watch it when moving unless you bypass it i did its simple no need for no toggle switches all you have to ground the brakewire and add a pin to an open port on one of the wiring harness and ground it and all you have to do is hit the warning button and watch away i have a pdf on the process if anyone wants it
