Dual is a decent company. They have been around for atleast a few years. They are not the best but they are not the worst either. If I were to compare them to a few coumpanies I would say they are like at the same level as Boss, Fusion, or Lanzar (non-opti equipment) in quality. I do want to say that the unit that you have picked out looks complicated as hell.

I had a DUAL cd player in my Ranger a couple years back and loved it. Worked great never had any problems.

Would this be another case of "this company sucks ass YET I've never used them and go off a general Idea without real proof" type deal...I THINK SO

as with anything else you get what you pay for! It also depends what you're going to use it for. personally i wouldn't buy it. i would keep checking best buy for open box deals on brand name items. i got a brand new pioneerhead unit for $140 for my camaro cause someone returned it and never installed it but the box was opened so they couldn't sell it as new. i would just keep your eyes open and keep looking and you'll find good stuff. i mean if you're familliar with audio equipment and you have to ask if it's any good...umm yea it's probably not the crem of the crop. just my humble opinion. good luck

But when selling them you dont have your own personal input as to wether or not they're actually good. True you could sell them for a year and see them come back, but whos to say the other sales persons didn't sell a good amount of them and that they didn't come back.

dude he was simply saying he saw lots of returns. and if he is seeing that i'm fairly certain that the returned defective DUAL head units weren't limited to the ones he sold. if that was the case they would be trying to figure out what he was doing to them to break them. bottom line is they are probably on the lower midrange for headunits which probably wouldn't work well with anything but the very basic system

When I had my dual headunit I had upgraded Pioneer speakers all around. And it also had a higher Wattage than 70% of the other headunits out. It can easily push more than a basic system. If you look DUAL makes quite a bit of audio equipment for the vehicle. For the price they're good and I never had any problems with anything from them.

I LOVE how everyone instantly writes off a company as crap due to price and the fact they haven't tried the product for themselves. I've tried them and can say the headunits are very good.

u are better off buying an alpine, jvc or pioneer that has fewer features for the same $$ cause the big brands are more durable and last longer.

the thing you have to look at is you may never have a problem with a piece of **** product, it might work GREAT for you, but as for the other million people who have problems, they're not going to be fond of that product. I work at best buy and have pretty much used every brand in every aspect of car audio, and I will tell you that it's not a reliable brand. Granted it's cheap and they have some cool features, but you're MUCH better off buying a lower end alpine or pioneer, you'll be so much more pleased when you're audio is still working 6 years from now

my friend had one in his sable. the motor that causes the unit to open fried out after a few months. he got it replaced and then the second one just up and stopped working after a short time. they're crappy a few people may have had good experience with them, but the majority of people have problems. but, if you want to go ahead and be cheap and buy a shitty headunit go ahead. you asked everyone here for opinions and the majority has said they suck. so if you end up getting one and it sucks, don't come bitching to us.
