Dynamat help
So i bought the dynamat trunk kit and put it on in the trunk i didnt lay it out in sheets but i cut out strips and put them every where through the trunk and on the trunk lid, my question is that iput some in between the trunk lid and the car in the crack where water goes when it rains, do you think this could cause any problems, also i didnt clean the metal where i put the dynamat because im stupid and didnt read directions, you think ill be ok? what would you suggest doing, also how do you get the stock subwoofer out?

Not sure about problems with the seal on the trunk lid, but the dynamat might weaken overtime if it's always water logged. But don't take my word for it. Water might also just sit there and not flow out. Cleaning the metal is good so it forms a better seal but unless there is dirt/gravel/mud everywhere I don't see a huge problem. The stock sub comes out with I think 4 bolts, 10mm size, and the wiring just unclips.

how dirty was the surface of the car? i mean, unless it was just caked in mud or something you will probably be ok, even though you def. should have cleaned it first
in regards to the stock sub, there are 4 nutes that require a deep socket to get them out, forget the size. But there are four holes around the enclosure, that will allow you to take the whole thing off and work on it

regular dynamat will fall off in about a years time if u didnt prep the surface with alchol, use a roller and use a heat gun to cake the **** on... its asphalt based meaning its really worthless crap anyway
dynamat extreme would hold up thou. I would get a roller and heat gun and as long as u put plenty of pressure (roller) and throw some heat in the mix u should be fine water or no water. Only time water would effect the bond is if either there was alot of it or the original bond is weak which we now know is true but u can fix it.

Just heat it up good and put your back into rolling it on.
Don't get one of those cheap wooden dynamat rollers, it will bust with the first hour, go to your local hardware store, go to the paint and wallpaper section and get a wallpaper roller, its the same size but its hard plastic and its not going to fall apart on you, plus its cheaper than the "economy roller"

anything can be enough just depends on how much you use. Any of the vibration dampeners are effective with even little coverage. Of course more is going to be better but full coverage isn't necessary. SO to answer your question will a trunk pack be enough for a trunk. Sure as long as your smart and evenly distribute the product. Will you get full coverage with a trunk pack? NO

I would watch placing anything in the space between the deck lid seal and the quarter panel (the rain gutter). Water may back up and then you have to count on your seal to keep the water out... not a good idea. Also some of the OEM companies....

I doubt they will sell small volume but you never know.... A couple of you who live near eachother may be able to pool the resources.

Cheapest alternative I've found was Fat Mat on ebay. 100 Sq feet for $160 shipped. Me and a friend split it 50/50. I used about 35 SQ feet on my trunk alone. I did under the spare tire, all the metal under the carpet on bottom and all sides, and I did the entire rear deck where the speakers are.
