Dynamat helps seal out all outside noises. Helps with interior comfort such as great quality sound out of your speakers. Less resonance/vibrations.

Doing the doors and the wheel wells will also cut out alot of road noise.

If costs is a factor use only dynamat for behind/around speakers. Then do your entire car.

idealy you want to do as much as you can, i wouldnt use dynamat now a days, ther are better products.

one advantage among many is the luxury car feel it can give, you close the door and are in a nice sound cacooon lol.

There are.... DynaMat, HushMat, Stinger Road Kill (What I use), second skin, bull ****, there are endless companies that make it but its pretty much the same, I use the stinger stuff because its very easy to use and it doesnt squessh out all the sticky stuff and keeps it on the backer

peel and seel is crap.. What you want to look for are butyl products. Second skin is my sound dampener of choice but like a few peeps have said there's several different brands out there.

Mind you any vibration dampener doesnt need full coverage to work. Assuming you only have 10sq ft... you will get alot better results use just lil patches throughout the car then using all of it in the doors, or trunk or whatever

80sq ft shoudl be plenty for the whole car... Personally ive used ~170sqft

yes 80sq ft will be enough for the two doors trunk and floor. BUT you have to make sure to evenly distribute the product.

in all actuality the whole car is rattling so applying a million sq ft on the doors isnt going to help your trunk

I suggest checking this stuff out, you can get it in liquid sound deadening and peel and stick, they both work great! but you really dont want to get the v1, if you want something good get the v1SE. Also if you want it really thick in some areas I would suggest the v3. I have used all of their edead products and loved them!

ehh **** edead. I got some for free and detemined i would be better off not using it then putting it in my car. Spent months figuring out where i could put it (moms car, computer, ect) and not waste it yet not use it in my car... Ended up wasting it anyway since i gave it to a douche bag that put it on a cinder block wall for fun

Yeah you have to take him with a grain of salt.

i used fat mat, it works great for me. no rattles and the road noise is much less. i got 100 sq ft for like 120 shipped and i have almost 40sq ft left over after doing the entire trunk, wheel well, rear deck top and bottom, rear seat and the rear sides. when my back stops hurting from five days of doing it, ill do the front doors and stuff haha

I did a nice little write up on exactly what you are asking about.
