Electronic Question about our cars.

Does anyone know what a VCIM Vehicle Communication Interface Module is? The way the schematic shows it appears not to apply to all cobalts. So how do we know if we have one or not? It says w/UEI and w/o UEI

Does anyone know what the UEI option is or how to tell if you have one?

Hey Jonathan,

I looked up your vehicle build (had your VIN from before) and do not see VCIM on your vehicle (VCIM refers to the Onstar module). Looks like your vehicle, stock, was not Onstar equipped.

Hope this helped!

Yep VCIM = OnStar. On later models it also contains a bluetooth antenna.
